Further Depressing Thoughts

Yes the news from Australia gets worse. Not only has the Coalition won control of the House of Representatives, it looks like they may win control of the Senate as well, which will mean the end of government accountability in Australia. Up until now the Senate has been the only thing stopping John Howard from being able to push through his conservative agenda - now the government will be able to do anything it wants. Unbelievable really and I hate to think what will happen to Australia over the next 3 years - too depressing to think about.
